Problem: I presented my design as a descriptive research design. This was the most appropriate design choice for my dissertation, given the interviews I would conduct with school counselors and the information I would gather. My study seeks to understand how school counselors in economically disadvantaged schools describe their experiences implementing comprehensive school mental health systems alongside licensed mental health professionals. Given the exploratory and practice-focused nature of this inquiry, a qualitative descriptive design aligns best with my research problem, research questions, and intended outcomes.
