Homework: Community Partnership Plan
Instruction
Schools have an enormous responsibility to provide high quality educational outcomes for students. In order for schools to help students grow academically, emotionally, and socially, it is imperative for schools to develop partnerships with community organizations in order to provide resources or support for students and their families.
For this homework, you will write a 1 page research-based paper that outlines a plan for a partnership between a community organization and an urban school.
The paper will include the following sections:
i. An introductory paragraph that introduces the importance of school-community partnerships and the purpose of the paper. Interesting facts or statistics are included to pique the reader's interest.
ii. Identify a real community organization and explain the purpose and history of the organization. The organization you choose must have locations in, or provide support to urban areas.
iii. Describe a detailed plan for a partnership between a school (elementary, middle, or high school) and the organization. State a goal for this partnership and describe exactly how the community organization could provide support to the school. The partnership can address academics, behavior, physical health, mental health, well-being, or any other aspect of students' lives that could be enhanced through a community partnership. The plan may include a financial contribution in addition to other services that the organization will provide to the school. Financial contributions should not be the extent of the partnership.
iv. Describe how the partnership would be mutually beneficial to the school and the community organization. Include at least one Biblical principle that supports the establishment of this partnership. Scripture should be integrated into your discussion.
v. A conclusion paragraph that provides a well-developed summary of the content of the paper and includes a quote, Scripture, statistic, or personal application that provides appropriate closure for the paper.
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
i) The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
ii) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
iii) Also include a reference page. The Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
