The psychology of wisdom is a growing specialty of positive psychology. Interview a person over the age of 60 in order to gain more information about wisdom. This can include a family member, family friend, clergy, and former teacher. Your questions should include the following: (a) In your view, what exactly is wisdom? (b) Do people usually become wiser as they get older? Why or why not? (c) How do people acquire wisdom? (d) Is wisdom the same thing as intelligence? That is, are smart people necessarily wise? (e) Finally, what advice would you give to someone in his or her twenties who wants to gain more wisdom?
