Problem
You are an administrator in small community hospital. Your facility currently uses four separate databases for admission, patient records, billing, reporting, and other functions. While there have been some complaints from users (physicians, nurses, coding/billing staff) most of your employees are happy with using multiple systems. Recently, you proposed purchasing one EMR product, which would serve all functions of your current databases, in one program. You received significant push-back on this proposal, mainly due to cost constraints.
Explain how you can strengthen your argument to move this facility to using only one platform. Remember, cost is still a valid concern.
