In the first paragraph, reflect on one of the cultural periods we have looked at (ancient 1. In your second paragraph, tell me how you think that this culture has contributed to or influenced what it means to be human and live a life of meaning for you, a person living in 2015.

2. Explain how the Hebrew notion of free will in the Book of Genesis is different from the Greek notion in Oedipus the King. Is there anything that the Bible and Oedipus the King share concerning Fate or Destiny? (Remember that Sophocles' universe in Oedipus the King is fixed; everyone has a fate that cannot be circumvented -- but this does NOT mean that people cannot make choices while they live.) Which perspective on free will and fate do you subscribe to more, and why?
