Exceptions in the equal pay act

Assignment Task: 17 years ago, an ambitious young engineer at a large chemical company handed her boss a four-page list of all the promotions she expected every 2 years as she worked her way up the company hierarchy. In the end, she hoped to reach the vice presidency, which put her at six different jobs, although the last 3 have kept her at a managerial level.

The company is restructuring and this 48-year-old woman is getting discouraged. What kind of non-monetary rewards can the company offer to keep them from leaving?

She is also one of the few female engineers in the company, and in informal conversations she has just discovered that a male engineer in her situation charges 25 percent more. How would she determine if this wage difference meets at least one of the four exceptions in the Equal Pay Act?
