Problem:
When you toss something in the trash, it signifies the end of its usefulness to you. But this is hardly an ending for the item that you discarded. That item begins a journey that typically carries it from your trash can to a local waste management facility and ultimately to a landfill. Of course, it does not travel alone but is accompanied by a growing number of other discarded items. The volume of waste produced by humans continues to grow at alarming rates, creating a need for new waste management solutions.
In this discussion, you will examine strategies for managing waste. You will also develop messaging that can be used to advocate for a potential strategy to alleviate the growing waste management problem within your community.
