Assignment task: The purpose of this assignment is to examine in detail the components of Executive Functioning.

Directions:

Students will choose an age group (infancy and childhood, adolescence, young and middle adulthood, and late adulthood) to focus this assignment on. The assignment will cover:

Introduction: Summarize executive functioning including the 3 components.

Based on the information above how does this relate to the lifespan (e.g., how is executive functioning different in 3 year olds, 16 year olds and 56 year olds). (Neuro-typical individual)

Choose one age group and one of the components (working memory, inhibitory control, and cognitive flexibility) and summarize an activity that would support the development of the component you picked.  (A person with an exceptionality)

Explain how this activity could be modified for a person (adult or child) with exceptionality.

Summary, Body of the text, Conclusion.

Students will provide information and resources for support outside of the course content.
