Discussion Post: Regional Characteristics Reflected in Art
Refer to the assigned reading from the textbook and required videos as examples of how to interpret works of art.
In the "Comparing Regions" Discussion, you examined how differences between regions exist and the implications to art created within those regions, specific to the Baroque movement.
Now, select two works, each from different regions within the same time period and movement (other than the Baroque movement).
Below are some examples of regions to explore within a particular movement (choose two regions):
o Italy
o France
o Northern Europe
o Spain
o United States
Between the two works of art, what similarities and differences do you see in terms of the media (materials), methods, and subjects? Explain how each work of art is reflective of the movement, yet unique to its region.
The response should include a reference list. One-inch margins, Using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, double-space and APA style of writing and citations.
