After you have read the Rhetorical Analysis for Professional Documents, (reading is attached if link will not open) select your favorite website and one another website, one completely opposite in tone and content and presentation from yours.
For each website, place yourself in the role of the web designer and answer the list of questions under "Focusing on Audience," inserting the website as the "document" under discussion. After you have answered the questions, write two paragraphs, developing a profile of the ideal user for each website.
Examine any special characteristics or background the user may have with the website's product or service, as well as any legal concerns that could arise from the website's use. Consider also the cross-cultural implications and technical knowledge that the designers had to be aware of when they constructed this site. What about any special tasks, background, or attitude?-how do they affect the visual representations or information included? Write the set of profiles (include your answers to the preliminary questions as "brainstorming") on a Word.doc and submit the file to the Assignment folder.
