Everyday, more than XXX cars run on the NY state roads. When we think the each mass of car that varies from 3200lb to XXX, we can imagine how much kinematic energy is contained in a moving car. This new type of on road energy harvester is designed to harvest the kinematic energy from cars that are running on the roads by adapting creative new shape plate spring, which will be made of 1045 cold drawn steel. This harvester can be implemented on the road surface and when ever a car run over the top plate of harvester, follower arm, which is attached under the top plate, will occur vertical deformation of the plate-spring about 5mm. This push down force from the weight of car will transferred to torque to rotate the main shaft which is connected to gear box, flywheel, and generator through one way clutch that press-fitted into the plate spring. As cars run over the harvester, the one way clutch in the plate spring will accelerate the angular velocity of the main shaft. The main shaft is connected to gearbox and generator to generate electricity. This harvester can be used to power streetlights or real time speed indicators around road.
