This week we concentrated on TCO F which is: Evaluate the effectiveness of healthcare services delivered by a selected organization, utilizing an outcomes-based approach. So we began the week by looking at Patient safety issues. We traveled all around the web this week looking at articles that discussed different aspects of patient safety i.e. hand washing, the airline model for improving healthcare safety, and ID chips. We even looked at a model which demonstrates how a system fails when a catastrophic error occurs (Swiss Cheese Model). So let’s round out this thread with a bit more thought about how your facility could improve patient safety. Please think about one area where you have the most control. Thoughts?
