An all-hazards approach is fundamental to preventing, protecting, and responding to all forms of threat to national security. Terrorism is just one aspect of the facet of national security. Other significant challenges include cyberattacks, economic espionage, and a strong global presence to protect the US's interests. (Wray, C, 2019.) Critical Infrastructure Congress directed the DHS to identify, prioritize, and protect systems and assets critical to national security.
