Effectiveness of a nutrition education intervention

Nutrition education can be thought of as consisting of two phases: the "why-to" or motivational/pre-action phase and the "how-to" or action phase. Four theories are useful in addressing the "why-to" phase: Health Belief Model (HBM), the Precaution Adoption Model (PAPM), the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), and the Self-determination Theory (SDT). Four theories are useful in the "how-to" phase: Social Cognitive Theory (SCT), Self-regulation/self-efficacy Models, Grounded Theory Approach, and the Transtheoretical Model (TTM).

Translating theory into practical strategies is a crucial process for the effectiveness of a nutrition education intervention. Choose a theory to address the "why-to" and a theory to address the "how-to" of the behavior you identified for your audience in the discussion board question.

Why did you choose each of these theories?

What aspect of each of these theories is relevant to your audience and behavior?

How can the theories you chose be translated into educational strategies?

On the above requirements, prepare a 3-5 page paper. Your assignment should follow APA guidelines (not including title and reference page) and should include a minimum of three references are required with no more than one website. Websites such as Wikipedia are not acceptable.
