Educational Goals

Goals refer to personal dreams aiming to accomplish. They may be short-term goals or long term, but it all depends on the significance of each of them. Long-term goals involve the ideas to achieve in the nearer future unlike the long-term goals achieved after a long time in life.

However, a determination is the key to achieving personal, educational objectives. Choosing to be a health care administration needs commitment too because dealing with medical services is usually very sensitive. Personally, had a passion towards health care administration and decided to focus attending classes as short term goals to attain a degree certificate. Accordingly the course degree is achieved by lesser people meaning, professionals are more demanded in health centers. Therefore, it easy to get a job to exploit the skills learned in school as well as to earn money for use during and after retire.

The career itself is quite demanding, and it requires intrinsic motivation too. Health care administration links experience and knowledge in health care and business. Short-term goals in a career here includes; attaining a fellowship able to offer an excellent training or education in health care management. More so enhance and develop a philosophy, ethical codes and values to enthuse devotion to excellence in the health care business. The career refines and enhances leadership skills as well as management. It will also help in acquiring technical and managerial skills essential to meet challenges and demands facing the health care industry in the nearer future. Lastly to gain experience that will contribute to the productivity of an organization.

The long-term goals specifically include having the knowledge to develop and mentor less experienced colleagues. Also become a role model for children and relatives through the managerial skills and leadership knowledge. To lead an active, innovative and world-class health care industry as well as facilitate patients care fineness. Also, make a significant positive difference in other people's lives as an administrator of the health care organization.

I have decided to go back to school and pursue my degree in Healthcare Administration due to the rise in the economy. I have always wanted to go back but never could find the time to do so being a single parent it was hard to most of the things I wanted to do. I had to provide for my two daughters. Mentally and physically it drained me to do at a time when I knew my daughters needed me the most. I started working in the healthcare field at the age of 20.

I started out as a home health aide I enrolled into college for Nursing but when I realized all the time and dedication you had to put I had to withdraw I was devastated. So I worked 2-3 jobs for many years trying to find myself. I love the healthcare field and did just about everything it was to do except becoming a nurse. Other jobs would include certified nurse aide, and medical assistant in which all these jobs has taught me a lot and I know where my heart lies and that is in the healthcare field. I know that being and healthcare administration I could give sound advice to those who are less fortunate to understand the many changes in the healthcare system. Once I obtain my BA degree I plan on going further and pursing my MA in Healthcare Administration with a concentration in Long Term Care providing more information to the elderly and their families gives the ability to assist them in receiving the best information on healthcare po;icy, procedures, and the never ending changes in healthcare funding.
