During the last three units, we honed our skills in thinking and seeing rhetorically. We also practiced using our descriptive powers, striving to show the reader our place in both the positive and negative paragraphs. In this unit, we will apply some of those same skills. However, rather than simply showing the reader a place, we will be telling them a true story about one significant event in our own lives. We will be showing characters, events, and the significance of those events. For the next three units, then, we will be practicing our skills as storytellers, learning the basic elements of story and applying those to our own experiences.
