Question: Dr. Sedmak and his wife collected Chevrolet Corvettes. They learned about a limited-edition Corvette designed to commemorate the official pace car of the Indianapolis 500 and became interested in purchasing one. (Chevrolet manufactured only 6,000 of these pace cars.) The Sedmaks went to a local Chevrolet dealer and discovered that the dealership had received only one of these cars. The sales manager agreed to sell this car to them. When the Sedmaks went to pick up the car and pay for it, they were told that because of the great demand for this limited edition, the dealership had decided to auction it off to the highest bidder.
