Does christianity worships a separate god

Problem: Christianity in particular has the concept of Trinity, that God exists as one essence in three equally and fully divine persons--a oneness-in-threeness that is fairly hard to explain and has occupied the minds of theologians for millennia. Islam and Judaism, however, both strictly adhere to the idea of a one-essence, one-person deity. Does this mean that Christianity worships a separate God? Why or why not?
