International terrorist attacks on the United States have been some of the most dramatic that the country has seen in its history. Most of the attention and fear are directed toward the threat of international terrorist attacks. However, domestic attacks can be just as deadly and threatening.
Reflect on reasons that you think the first instinct of many American citizens is to immediately think "international" when discussing terrorism. Do you think this line of thinking can cause problems for national security? Do you think this can increase the likelihood of a domestic terror attack or impede a response effort?
