In sociology, we might say that one major goal is the study of human suffering, human motivation, and their meaning, and trying to mitigate the former (the suffering) while supporting the latter. In this course, we are doing this through watching and analyzing classic films. Do you think fictional films are a good way to derive insight into the real human experience or not and why or why not (please explain your position)?
