Problem:
Upon reviewing my project results and artifacts, I found that they largely reflected the objectives I had initially set. While the core focus remained on optimizing healthcare delivery, some refinements emerged as I gained deeper insights into implementation barriers. For instance, process maps and stakeholder analyses proved instrumental in visualizing workflow efficiencies and identifying key collaborators.
That said, there were moments when my results deviated from my expectations. Some interventions required adjustments due to unanticipated obstacles, and certain artifacts needed further refinement to align with best practices. These deviations emphasized the importance of continuous learning and flexibility-qualities essential for success in public health initiatives.
Throughout this experience, I have encountered both valuable opportunities and significant barriers:
Opportunities: I gained hands-on exposure to healthcare service models, epidemiological data analysis, and policy evaluation. Working with programs like Care Without Walls (CWW) allowed me to see the impact of street-based medicine healthcare solutions in underserved communities. Barriers: A major challenge has been navigating gaps in funding, accessibility, and systemic healthcare inequities. Policy limitations sometimes restrict the scalability of interventions, making it difficult to provide comprehensive and continuous support to people experiencing homelessness (PEH).
