Discusses some of the basic characteristics of monsters

Problem: In his essay, Jeffrey Jerome Cohen discusses some of the basic characteristics of monsters focusing most on the social functions that they tend to fulfill. Each thesis for Cohen is something that can be said to be true of monsters. I'd like you to write a short response in which you write a little bit about your own experience of monsters. Root your discussion in your own life experience, spend time describing and analyzing the role or roles monsters have played in your earlier life and in your life now. Think about how monsters on tv affected you, or how stories you heard of monsters shaped your imagination, your sense of the world. There's not a wrong answer to this if you write with curiosity and give it your best effort but remember that we're focusing on the monsters our cultures and minds imagine. If you  think you've seen a real monster, or if a real person has treated you monstrously, that's for a different conversation. This response is about the monsters we imagine. And one last thing. Try to work Cohen in here. Find a place in your essay where you can quote from Cohen's essay about monsters. This may require you to consider how his thinking aligns with your experience. That's good--that's the start of good analytical essay writing so I'd like to see at least one quote from Cohen here.  At least one quote from Cohen's essay, "7 Theses".
