Discuss toronto test case for public-private gentrification

Assignment Task:

"The city is moving government housing of minority families out of their local inner city areas in order to gentrify neighbourhoods and build extremely expensive condos. The city looks bad because they are shipping less fortunate people to less accessible areas. The people they are moving out do a great amount of service for their communities and are employees for the city and their community. To add insult to injury, they are being moved to areas with poor transit links. They have to travel over an hour to get to work with unreliable buses, which could interfere with their work and their families schedules. Housing downtown is accessible for the family who don't have cars which was the point giving them the local area in the first place. These families are trying to support their children and they are being denied the ability to. They are moving families to the east end and west end sometimes out of the city. They have to pick up and leave everything and everyone they know because the government is prioritizing the higher class to move into their area. Higher class people have the resources to come to the inner city. If they want to move in, the government shouldn't push these families out like they don't belong."
