Evaluate, critique, and assess Tillotson's argument(s) from this book and discuss their significance to Canadian politics, Canada's welfare state, and Canadian society in the 20th century. In developing your response, you may want to pay particular attention to the contrasts between Tillotson's arguments and Ian Mackay's description of Canada as a project in liberalism from the mid-19th century to 1940.
