What is the Compare and contrast?
In this paper, similarities between two short stories like Tell-Tale Heart and The Black Cat will be discussed. These stories were written by Edgar Allan Poe. The Black Cat published in 1843 while Tell tale Heart was also published in 1843. In the first story, the victim of the murder was a woman and in the second story, the victim of the murder was a man. In both stories, murderer disguise carefully the body of the victim and his crime and believes that he was safe (Thompson & Poe, 2007). But after some time, he breaks down and realizes his crime and feel guilt for his behavior. Both stories have similar concepts and climax. In this work, similarities between two stories will be discussed with the help of some stylistic devices such as plot structure, irony, syntax and voice and sarcasm. These devices are similar in both stories.
