Assignment:
Your answer to Question 1 should be as long as two single spaced typed pages. Questions 2 and 3 are worth 5 points each. The answers to questions 2 and 3 should be at least as long as one typed single spaced page. You need to answer all three questions. The answers to all three questions must be submitted as one .doc or .docx file. Handwritten work scanned into a Word document is not acceptable. Please be sure to provide citations for your sources.
All answers must be in essay format.
If you have technical difficulties uploading your file to this test, please contact the Open SUNY Helpdesk. Test Three is due Monday, December 9. With the 48 grace period, I will accept Test Three until Wednesday, December 11. Therefore it you have a technical difficulty you have two days to work it out with the Open SUNY Helpdesk. I will not accept Test Three after December 11, so please do not wait until the last minute to complete the test. The campus does have an incomplete policy in the event of a life threatening emergency. An incomplete requires prior approval and documentation of the major emergency. It is up to you to submit the correct file in the correct format to this exam. Submitting the wrong file an empty file or a file in a format other than .doc or .docx will cause your grade to be a 0. You can go in and view what you submitted to be sure it went through and you submitted the file you wanted to.

Test Three
1. Discuss controversies surrounding the development of the government's role in providing, financing, and regulating health insurance and health services. Include in your discussion the economic reasons for government intervention in a market based health care system. Please be sure to incorporate the reasons identified in your text as well as any additional reasons you wish to provide. Provide a critique of these reasons
2. Discuss the structure, conduct and performance of the pharmaceutical industry. How does its structure, conduct and performance impact patients? Given the structure, conduct and performance of the pharmaceutical industry, predict the responsiveness of the industry to a common disease as compared to a very rare disease. Assume both diseases have very similar impacts on patients.
3. Some view health care systems of other developed countries as reasonable models for the reform of U.S. health care system. Choose one of the health care systems covered of your text and describe it in some detail. Provide reasons why you consider it a workable or unworkable model for the United States.
