Discussion Post: Global Terrorism
The United States, as well as other countries around the world, is vastly different after the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Discuss ways that the U.S. has responded to terrorism and expound on the following:
a) Discuss specific ways that the U.S. has attempted to counter the threat of terrorism.
b) What is the danger in the definition of terrorism changing over time? Have countries around the world used the threat of terrorism to increase surveillance on their own citizens? The "slippery slope" argument.
c) Do you think there is a way to truly defeat terrorism?
