Question: What point is being made from the following:
When you discuss something like Chattel Slavery, White Supremacy, Patriarchy, or Indigenous Dispossession, there are a lot of people (in this case I suppose we would be predominantly talking about white men) that reject the reality of what these terms represent.
There is the obvious answer that there are those still in power that are benefiting from the exploitation these events/systems of oppression have provided and are pushing against reform with propaganda and legislation; but outside of that I think there is still an inherent "need" for many to reject reality because it is hard to come to terms with.
