Problem:
There are eight elements included in Rothman's community practice model which is locality development, social planning, social action, social movement, social capital, social justice, advocacy, and empowerment. To discuss further, Locality development refers to community building where members bring awareness and identify mutual needs. Social planning focus on identifying the goals and planning towards what is needed for change to occur. Then, social action is the grassroots practice that focuses on resources and power dynamics to advocate for reform. In addition, social movement is the geographical boundaries within countries that bring awareness to various social issues. Next, social justice advocate for equal rights, and opportunities for everyone regardless of their race, age, gender, sex orientation, disability, and socioeconomic status. Lastly, empowerment refers to the process of building resilience, self-determination, and strength to be able to advocate for themselves and overcome challenges (Netting et al, 2023).
Based on the eight community practice model which are all interconnected and play a significant role in advocacy and change in the field of social work. However, the one that I believe is most culturally sensitive is social justice because it fight for everyone regardless of their culture, race, gender, and socioeconomic status. Therefore, when resources and opportunities are diverse, equitable, and inclusive this foster positive outcomes. The other elements are based on the community needs, action that is needed to be change, advocacy, and intervention. Hence, social issues affects communities differently which also influence or impact resources, opportunities, and intervention. Reply my classmate. Need Assignment Help?
