Discussion 1: Electronic Data Interchange
Electronic data interchange (EDI) is a key enabler of supply management. For this discussion, choose an industry of interest to you (such as manufacturing or health care). Search the Internet to identify key industry initiatives that support EDI. Such initiatives may include governing bodies and coding standards. What are some of the benefits of such an initiative to firms and customers in this industry? What is the role and importance of EDI in your industry of interest?
