Read Sindbad pp. 3-28 and pp. 54-61 (Voyages 1, 2, 3 and 7), from the Sindbad textbook.

• Discuss different ways Poe's short story was impacted by The Arabian Nights. What intertextual elements do you observe: references, allusions, similarities, differences in style and structure, individuality, etc?
