Most recently, medical assisted death which gives medical providers the permission to assist terminal ill patients who wish to end their lives. Hence, more states are passing this law to allow individuals this option after careful counseling, and evaluation.
Social workers having knowledge and understanding about death and dying can provide support and resources to family dealing with death, loss, grief, bereavement, and mourning. Additionally, integrating the family culture, traditions, ritual into the dying process to ensure that they are providing services that are uniquely tailored to the clients and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion during families' most vulnerable stage.
