Problem: Emergencies, such as those described in this unit, can strike anywhere at any time. Many fire/emergency medical services (EMS) agencies have a local hazmat team, or belong to a county hazmat team for response to incidents such as these. Have you had experience in a real disaster or emergency that involved the hazmat response, either as a member of the team or as responding fire/EMS personnel? Discuss what you felt worked or did not work.
Alternately, discuss any emotional response you have had to either being involved in a natural disaster or training for one.
