What are the merits and pitfalls to choosing one over other

Problem: In healthcare financial decision-making it is critical to have both timely and accurate information to help you make decisions. Let's assume that for whatever reason, the finance department can only deliver either timely information or accurate information. They simply just can't seem to deliver both. If you choose timely information, the accuracy is normally around 80%. Conversely, if you choose accurate information, it is normally delivered a week later than you hoped.

What are the merits and pitfalls to choosing one over the other? Can you make sure to make a determination as to which one you believe is most important. If there are any references, please mention them.
