Final Leadership Paper Outline
• As a capstone to this class, each student will select a fortune 500 leader and write a paper on this person.
• The leader selected should be someone that can be researched so you can complete the necessary elements of the paper.
• The leader can be part of a public or private organization
• The industry and/or business type is left up to you to select.
• The specific format of the paper is flexible, as long as it meets the APA standard outline
Outline
• The core elements of the paper should include the following:
o Executive Summary
o 5-10 year profile of the individual selected
What has their career path been towards their current leadership role
o What is there current leadership role & responsibilities
o What style of leadership do you feel that he/she practices
o How is the leader viewed in the public's eye
o What is he/she most common form of communication style
You may need to make some assumptions
o What are their leadership KPI's and how do they rate against them
o List at least 5 leadership traits that really define this leader in their current role
o What other notable leader would you compare them to
What is similar and what is different
o Have they significantly changed as a leader within the last 5 years based on the business needs of their company and/or their overall view in there current role
o How do you see them changing or maturing as a leader in the near term
o What parts of their leadership style would you want to emulate in your own leadership style
Written Paper
• Paper length must be 10-12 pages
Presentation
• Individual student will spend 10-15 min during the last class sharing this paper with the class.
References
• The paper should include a min of 5-7 outside references, all of which should be documented.
