Assignment
• In Excel, draw a flowchart for getting ready to go to work or school in the morning.
• The flowchart must have a Start node, at least eight operations, at least two decisions, and at least one End node.
• Completion of the steps in the flowchart should result in the completion of the task.
Notes and Hints
• It is wise to draw a rough draft of the flowchart on paper before putting it into Excel. This will reduce the number of revisions that you have to make.
• In Excel 2010 and Excel 2013, Insert Shapes is found on the Insert tab. In Excel 2007, Insert Shapes is found on the Home tab.
• The Excel Help function provides tips about resizing symbols, changing colors, and adding or removing borders from symbols.
• Text boxes and other shapes must be large enough to show all the text.
• All arrows must be black. The borders of other shapes must also be black.
• Shapes must not have colored backgrounds.
• When you finish your flow chart, check to see that text does not spill over the border of text boxes and other shapes. Do not change the Zoom in your file after you finish your chart.
• If you use a computer that does not have a Windows operating system, your flow chart may not display correctly on a Windows computer. Print a hard copy of your assignment and bring it to class.
