Problem
1) The answers to all questions should be a minimum of 10sentenc in length. (You need to answer the questions thoroughly so you can always write more.) Overall format will be fourparagraphs
2) Go beyond general discussion and use specific, and/or real-life examples.
A. Give a specific example of a time you needed to adapt your communication to a particular situation or a time you should have adapted your style but did not. For either one, give the details of the situation and discuss what effect your ability to adapt or your failure to do so had on the situation.
B. Discuss a specific stereotype that you have encountered, either in your own life or in the greater world. Talk about how it affects (ed) you and other people.
C. Discuss a specific example of a time where either the use of some type of offensive language or some other problem with language (ambiguity, loaded language, etc.) created a difficulty in communication. This situation could be from your personal experience or be something from the greater world. Discuss the problem, what specific language issue was involved, and what it teaches you about the role of language in communication.
D. Choose either three personal artifacts or three physical artifacts from your room and/or apartment (You could also discuss a combination of personal and physical artifacts.) Discuss what messages those specific artifacts give about you; focus on how others may perceive them, not what they mean to you.
