Devonian is the period of geologic time from 410 - 360 million years before the present. Life on land diversified, with amphibians appearing late in this period of time. Plants went through main changes, including the development of seeds and forests. In the water, fish diversified into all the modern groups as well as numerous of the forms which are now-extinct.
