Develop an understanding of different family systems


Taking into account all that you have learned about family systems and support programs, select three course objectives outlined in the syllabus and create a family support program that relates to these objectives. Write a 3-5 page description of the program including a detailed description of the structure of your program, what population you will serve, what service delivery model you will implement, and how you might get funding for your program. Also, justify the need for your program in the community.

7. Appraise the impact of divorce on the family system and challenges that may arise when working with single-parent families.

8. Examine the influence of culture on the family dynamics and difficulties faced by immigrant parents.

9. Discuss the implications of remarriage and adoption on the dynamics of the family system.

10. Identify ways to educate and support nontraditional families consisting of fathers and grandparents as primary caregivers for children.

11. Describe and synthesize the challenges faced by parents of children with disabilities (cognitive, emotional, or physical).

12. Recognize the role of the professional given the nature of the services provided.

13. Understand how to help parents' manage social systems effectively.
