Develop a debilitating or terminal illness

Problem: Doctors are currently able to do genetic testing to determine whether or not there is risk of developing various diseases - some of which may be terminal and not have a treatment or cure. Someday, it may be possible to tell with considerable certainty if a person may develop such diseases. What is your opinion of these tests? Should they be done? What are the possible problems with making such information available to the patient (or possibly others)? And, would you want such a test done if the results could indicate that you would someday develop a debilitating or terminal illness?
