Peter is a 51-year-old tradesperson with a history of Type 2 Diabetes. He became dizzy at work and fell resulting in a large laceration to his left lower leg. Following presentation to the Emergency Department, his vital signs are HR 93 bpm, RR 16 bpm, BP 104/95 mm Hg and Temp 37.2o Celsius. His wound is red and warm to touch. The area around the injury is swollen and painful.
Using the above scenario complete the following two sections:

Describe how nursing care should address the body's response to injury and clinical manifestations. Describe how different types of analgesics and anti-inflammatory medications would work to relieve his pain.
