Learning Activity Problem: Creating a Severance Package
Completing this activity will help you prepare. Think of it as practice for the problem. As such, focus on content, not formatting. Your paper should be no more than 1 to 2 pages in length.
For this activity:
A. Create a severance package for a separated employee in a fictitious company.
a. At a minimum, include:
i. Position differences.
ii. Years of service.
iii. Actual compensation amounts.
iv. Any additional benefits that you want to add.
B. Determine whether severance pay is taxable.
C. Create a chart that depicts the timeline of the disbursement of the compensation.
The response must include a reference list. Using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, double-space, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
