Determine the average power at load with a transmitted power

Assignment:

A twisted-pair telephone cable with characteristic impedance Z0 = 300Ω, is connected to a load ZL = 300Ω. The telephone line is d = 200 km long and exhibits a specific attenuation of (¯aCh)dB/km = 2dB/km. Determine:

a) The average power at the load with a transmitted power (PTx)dBm = 10 dBm.

b) The number N of repeaters (uniformly placed along the line, with gain (gA)dB = 20 dB and noise figure (FA)dB = 6 dB) that guarantee a minimum power at the load of 10 dBm.

c) The noise figure of the system and the SNR at the load for the situation depicted in b) and for a signal bandwidth B = 10 kHz.
