Value Statements: Determine how the nursing values manifest in your professional nursing practice. Take time to consider each of the nursing values and how they contribute to your professional identity. What do each of these mean to you? For every value, write value statement that explains the importance of the value to your professional practice. Note that each statement should be no more than a sentence long. Examples of value statements from different organizations, both in healthcare and otherwise, are provided below to prompt your thinking around the different ways a value statement can be constructed. Remember, these statements are individual and contextualized to the creator of the value statement.
