Analyze the application of technology and professional standards related to your health process issue at your practicum site (Cardiac Unit) in a 4-6 page paper
1. Explain aspects of your role in process change and professional standards.
- Explain the aspects of the role of the BSN-prepared RN in process change and professional standards.
- Identify your potential role in process change at your existing practicum (Cardiac Unit). If so, describe that role.
- If your role is limited, explain how you would envision your role in process change if you were a nurse at this site.
- Summarize what your state's (ILLINOIS) nurse practice act says related to the nurses role and process change.
2. Explain what interprofessional collaboration you have and will implement.
- What opportunities for collaboration do you see?
- Are you able to implement some of them in your current role at your practicum site? If not, how would you implement interprofessional collaboration as a nurse at this site?
3. Review government agencies associated with your process of concern. Explain the recommendations.
Examples of agencies include:
- Joint Commission.
- NDNQI.
- CMC.
4. Describe current technology used in your practicum site to address your practice issue.
- What are they currently using? Did you notice any problems or issues with the use of this technology?
5. Review the literature to determine technology available and recommended for your practice issue. Summarize the recommendations.

6. Describe any potential implementation issues you see for using the new technology?
Assignment 3:
Develop a proposal for an intervention to address a current practice or issue of concern. You will also develop a professional presentation to deliver to your peers to convince your peers at your practicum site to adopt and implement your proposal.
Your assessment is in two parts:
Part 1: Intervention proposal:
o 5-7 page paper.
Part 2: Narrated presentation to encourage adoption of the proposal. Include:
o No more than nine slides.
o Title and reference slides.
o A written Word document of the narration.
Part 1:
In your intervention proposal paper:
1. Identify your practice issue of concern.
2. Identify current practice.
3. Propose strategy to improve current practice. What is the strategy, including the changes for people and process needed?
- How does this enhance quality, safety, and reduce cost?
- Describe the application of technology in your strategy for improvement.
- What evidence are you basing your decisions on?
4. How would you implement this strategy at your practicum site? What challenges for implementation do you see at your site, and how would you overcome them?
5. What does successful interprofessional collaboration look like to implement this strategy? What interprofessional collaboration have or would you implement?
Part 2:
Now develop a short, narrated presentation to make the actual change. Your presentation should explain to your peers at your practicum site:
1. The need for change.
2. The key aspects of your proposal.
- Include the reason to implement it.
In the presentation, you're selling your proposal and educating your peers on how to put it into action.
