Assignment task: Consider the different readings from this week, looking at the various discussions about the meaning and significance of justice as well as the various problems with implementing justice. Choose at least one definition or theory of justice and then apply that idea within a context that is NOT the one the author applies it. For example, you may take one of Rawl's philosophical principles of justice and think about how they could apply to the ethics nursing. Or, you might apply the theory to a topic we discussed in previous weeks. You could discuss how some ancient ideas about justice are usefully applied to the abortion debate or the ethics of animal rights. Just be sure you select and explain a theory discussed in the readings from this week and apply it in a "new" way to something else we have read (this week or earlier).
