Suggest a resource that might be helpful to your peer based on their experience and explain why it might be helpful. One of the most significant workplace conflicts I experienced while working in a healthcare organization involved ongoing communication breakdowns between the Emergency Department (ED) and inpatient nursing units during patient admissions. The conflict centered on disagreements regarding whether patients were clinically appropriate for transferring from the ED to inpatient units. Emergency department staff believed patients were being unnecessarily delayed because inpatient nurses were requesting additional interventions before accepting the patient. In contrast, inpatient nurses felt they were receiving patients who were not adequately stabilized or who lacked complete information needed to safely continue care. As these disagreements became more frequent, frustration developed between departments, resulting in strained professional relationships and diminished trust. The conflict affected more than employee morale; it had direct implications for patient care and organizational performance. Delays in transferring patients from the ED contributed to emergency department crowding, increased boarding times, prolonged waiting times for incoming patients, and greater stress among frontline staff. Communication often became reactive rather than collaborative, with conversations focused on assigning blame instead of solving the underlying problem. Need Assignment Help?
