Assignment:
First decide whether you are a teacher of a special education classroom, regular inclusive classroom, gifted and talented classroom, speech/language class, or private intervention agency. From there tell me about an experience in which you have encountered. Explain the following:
o Identify and describe the client or student population of your classroom.
o Describe the types of services available for clients or students from within the district or agency in your area.
o Describe the collaboration of those at this site with outside support services such as county and private agencies, non-profit organizations, etc in your area.
o Identify the funding agency for your classroom in your area.
o Describe the staffing (number, types of positions).
o Describe the materials and curricula used.
o Describe the adult-client and/or teacher-student interaction.
o Describe how students are assessed for placement as well as instructional assessment.
Include an evaluation of your classroom or agency. Is this a classroom or agency in which you would place your own child? Are there changes you would make? If so, what?
