Assignment:
I would like you to write and discuss an Annotated Bibliography about either South Africa's, or Canada's Truth Reconciliation Commission.This assignment asks you to summarize and analyze 3 relevant sources that you plan to use for your research essay. Write a working thesis and begin your annotated bibliography with this working thesis statement. Begin with an introduction explaining the scope of your topic to familiarize your instructor with the focus of your research. The introduction may be two or three paragraphs long. Then list the items alphabetically by author, using MLA style bibliographic format. SOURCES: Your bibliography should contain 3 entries. Your sources must be scholarly books, scholarly articles or articles from reputable newspapers. Do not include encyclopedia (Wikipedia) or dictionary entries (You may consult these to learn background about your topic, but will not count as sources). FORMAT:For each of your sources, you should include a bibliographic entry with publication information in MLA format.
ANNOTATIONS:Your annotations for each of your sources should do the below:
1. summarize the source (chapter, book, article, or the like).
2. identify the text's argument (or main point)
3. rely primarily on your own words and phrasing-use summary and paraphrase.
4. discuss the source's usefulness, for instance, does the item offer a good introduction to the issue? Does the item deal with a particular aspect of the issue that is especially relevant to the problem you plan to address in your essay?
5. Describe how each piece will contribute to your essay.
Each annotation should be minimum 150 words, therefore bibliographic word count should be minimum 450 words, plus an intro of approx. 150 words.
