Homework: Evaluation of a Scholarly Peer-Reviewed Article
The purpose of this homework is to help you identify essential elements of research studies. As such, the items required in the homework are gauged on a performance and nonperformance scale only.
You will prepare an evaluation of the Doherty, Ashurst, and Peppard article (linked in Resources).
The six core elements in the article are:
A. Problem Statement.
a. Describe the problem under examination.
b. Describe how the problem represents some gap in the knowledge base.
B. Academic Justification.
a. Describe the authors' justification for researching the problem.
C. Literature Review.
a. Provide a summary of the critical authors writing in the field as identified by the authors of the article.
D. Research Questions.
a. Provide the specific research question or questions of the study.
E. Methodological Choice.
a. Describe the methodological choice (for example, qualitative or quantitative case study) and the justification of the methodology.
F. Discussion.
a. Explain the key findings for the research study.
b. Explain how the limitations of the study can be a springboard for future research.
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
o The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
o The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
o Also include a reference page. The Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
